The phrase Lagree Certified should communicate something specific. It should tell a studio owner and a client that an instructor completed official education through Lagree Fitness and was trained to teach the Method with its principles, terminology, equipment, and safety framework. It should not be used as a general description for anyone who has taken Lagree classes, taught on a similar machine, completed an internal audition, or learned a Lagree-inspired format elsewhere.

Official instructor certification

Official certification is delivered through Lagree Academy or an authorized Lagree Master Trainer. Level 1 establishes the foundation of the Method. Level 2 develops specific teaching competencies. Level 3 is the Master Trainer pathway for qualified educators who want authority to certify others on behalf of Lagree.

Current program pricing is $2,900 for Level 1, $290 per Level 2 course, and $4,900 for Level 3. Availability, format, prerequisites, travel, certificate fees, and schedules should be confirmed through Lagree Academy.

Internal studio training

A licensed Lagree studio may train and certify instructors for use within its own studio. This allows an owner to create internal onboarding, auditions, teaching standards, and continuing development around the studio’s operation.

That internal certification is not recognized as official Lagree training. It does not authorize the instructor to present the credential as an official Lagree Academy certification, certify instructors for other studios, or sell an independent Lagree teacher-training program.

Who may certify on behalf of Lagree

To certify instructors on behalf of Lagree Fitness or develop and deliver a Lagree teacher-training program, an educator must become a Level 3 Lagree Master Trainer and maintain the applicable Master Trainer license and standards.

The Level 3 program is taught in person by Sebastien Lagree at Lagree Headquarters in Los Angeles. There is no virtual Level 3 option. Eligibility includes completion of Level 1, required Level 2 and specialty courses, and at least one year of Lagree teaching experience. Lagree recommends approximately three years of teaching experience before applying because technical knowledge and real classroom judgment develop over time.

Certification is not a studio license

Instructor certification and commercial licensing solve different problems. A trainer certification recognizes education. A studio license authorizes a business to use Lagree intellectual property commercially at an approved operation. A certified instructor does not automatically have the right to open or market an official Lagree studio. A licensed studio does not automatically make every employee officially Lagree Certified.

How studios should protect the designation

  • Verify every instructor’s official training record before advertising the person as Lagree Certified.
  • Maintain internal onboarding without representing it as Lagree Academy certification.
  • Register and track instructors as the Lagree Portal and Academy become more integrated.
  • Use authorized Master Trainers for official certifications.
  • Keep training records, certificates, and continuing education current.
  • Correct inaccurate public claims quickly and clearly.

Why the distinction matters

Lagree is a Method, not merely a machine or collection of exercises. Certification protects the shared language and principles that allow a client to recognize the Method across different studios and markets. Clear credentials also protect instructors who invested in official education and owners who invest in authentic operations.

The standard is straightforward: official Lagree certification comes from Lagree Fitness through its authorized education system. Everything else should be described accurately for what it is.
