Denise has been in the fitness industry for 31+ years. At the age of 5, she was trained in Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She competed and taught dance from then on until 19 years old. Denise then began working out in a fitness club and enjoyed the group class atmosphere. She was initially certified by A.F.A.A. (American Fitness Association of America), which lead her to begin teaching aerobics and Total Body sculpting classes. She's certified in Step Reebok, Mad Dogg Athletics, Keiser Indoor Cycling, Resist-a-ball, Indo-Row, Lagree, NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine).
Denise opened CORE-Center of Real Energy in 2006 to pursue her dream of fitness after working in a corporate setting for 15+ years. She expanded into a second location, along with a Pilates studio, in Providence, RI. As a cancer patient in 2018 with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Denise’s mission slightly shifted and decided to create one studio with multiple facets of fitness under one roof. She was the first to bring LAGREE to RI. Denise’s goal has been to provide smart, safe and effective training for all clients, while creating a community for all ages and fitness levels to come and reach their personal best.
Denise is a member of IDEA, NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). She works closely with the Brown Health Cancer Institute, RI Hospital, and Hasbro Children’s and has been on the Board of Governors for R.I. Hospital for a few years. She is an advocate for Brown University Health organization and has had many successful fundraisers within her studio.
As a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, she works at the Brown University Health Cancer Institute helping cancer patients with their health and wellness, while also teaching Cycling, Core Body-Barre, Total Body Training and Lagree Fitness. Denise is the Lead Trainer for her facility and program director. She welcomes all to this wonderful community.
